Materials and tools: black thick paper, two connected pencils for the letter outlines, silver ink for the letters filling<\/p>\n

This piece is a peculiar one, a fruit of an early calligraphy experiment (c. 2000) on the Biblical verse of justification by faith. The traditional cluttered composition suggested by the Jali Diwani<\/em> script has been relieved by the lack of the characteristic filling of vowels and ornaments; the choice of black paper makes it difficult to work with. One feels more caught on the borderline between calligraphy and lettering, rather than pure calligraphy writing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
